To support our growth, we are looking for a Global Category Manager – Logistics who will take ownership of our logistics category at a global level, driving strategy, innovation, and value creation across regions.This is a high-impact role for a procurement professional who combines strategic sourcing expertise with strong logistics know-how, and who thrives in complex, international environments.

 

Your responsibilities

 

  • Define and execute a global category strategy for Logistics, with full ownership and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities (RFx, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting) for logistics services
  • Drive cost optimization and value creation initiatives across transportation, warehousing, and related services
  • Redesign and improve contractual frameworks and service models to enhance quality and performance
  • Build and manage a global logistics supplier network, ensuring performance, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with regional procurement teams and key stakeholders to ensure effective strategy execution
  • Monitor logistics market trends (rates, capacity, risks) and proactively mitigate supply chain disruptions
  • Lead digitalization and innovation initiatives (e.g. AI, data-driven sourcing, automation) within the logistics category

 

Your background

 

  • Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 5–10 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management, with strong exposure to logistics
  • Solid experience in logistics categories (transportation, freight, warehousing, 3PL/4PL, software/tool/ERP)
  • Proven track record in managing global or multi-regional suppliers
  • Strong negotiation skills, particularly in logistics contracts and rate structures
  • Deep understanding of logistics cost drivers, market dynamics, and supply chain risks
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence across a matrix organization
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to leverage data for decision-making
  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, and advanced Excel
  • Resilient, proactive, and results-driven, with a mindset focused on continuous improvement and value creation

Compensation Package 

 

The employment framework is based on the National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Metalworking Industry, with an indicative level of B3 and a minimum gross annual salary starting from € 39.000,00.The specific level and compensation package will be defined based on the outcome of the selection process (including experience, skills set, and role fit), in accordance with objective, transparent, and gender-neutral criteria, in line with pay equity and equal opportunity principles.The total compensation package will also includes a variable bonus linked to individual and company targets.
