About the role

As Senior Legal Counsel, you'll be a key strategic partner to our French operations, reporting to the France, Spain & UK Cluster Lead Counsel. In this high-impact role, you'll provide both commercial and corporate legal expertise to support ABB E-Mobility's growth in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle charging market.

What you'll do

Commercial & Contract Management

  • Draft, review and negotiate complex domestic and international agreements including EV charger sales, maintenance contracts, SaaS services, frame agreements, consortium deals, and NDAs
  • Navigate French public procurement processes and tender responses
  • Provide pragmatic, business-focused legal guidance on commercial opportunities

Strategic Legal Leadership

  • Deliver strategic legal counsel to business leaders across ABB E-Mobility France
  • Manage legal resources and budgets to ensure efficient, high-quality operations
  • Coordinate external legal support when needed, acting as the central point of contact
  • Anticipate business needs and implement proactive legal processes and tools

Corporate & Compliance

  • Provide corporate legal support suitable for our dynamic, growing entity
  • Ensure product compliance meets all regulatory requirements
  • Oversee HSE compliance and labor relations matters
  • Lead government investigations and regulatory interactions
  • Direct crisis management and incident response

What you bring

Qualifications & Experience

  • Juris Doctor with civil law qualification and/or LLM
  • Admitted to practice law in France
  • 10+ years post-qualification experience combining top-tier international law firm practice and in-house roles with global companies
  • Excellent written and spoken English; additional European language a strong plus
  • Deep expertise in international commercial law and preferably corporate law
  • Working knowledge of key international conventions, public procurement, and antitrust law
  • Proven success leading and developing high-performing legal teams
