Take your next career step at ABB E-mobility with a global team that is energizing the transformation of society and industry toward a more productive, sustainable future. As Head of Public Charging for North America, you will own the commercial strategy, the key customer relationships, and the growth agenda that will determine whether ABB becomes the leading public charging infrastructure partner across the U.S. and Canada.
This is not a traditional sales leadership role. You will shape how an entire segment goes to market, build long-term partnerships with the most important charge point operators in North America, and lead the kind of complex, high-stake deals that genuinely move markets. Reporting to the Global Head of Public Charging, you will have the autonomy to set your strategy while drawing on the full resources and expertise of ABB E-mobility's global organization.
If you are a commercially sharp, execution-focused leader with a strong feel for the public charging market and the drive to own a critical business in one of the fastest-growing sectors in the world, this role is for you.
Location: Charlotte, NC, with travel across North America
In this role your main accountabilities will be:
- Own the Commercial P&L: You are accountable for delivering orders, revenue, and gross profit across ultra-high-power, high-power, and destination charging in North America. Profitable, scalable growth is the goal, not volume for its own sake.
- Define and Execute the Go-to-Market Strategy: You are the architect of how ABB wins in North America. You decide which customers we serve directly, which we reach through partners, and where our commercial resources create the most leverage.
- Lead the Most Strategic Customer Relationships Personally: You personally own the relationships with our most important charge point operators in North America. You build account-specific strategies, activate executive sponsorship, and lead the win-back agenda where it is needed.
- Match ABB's Full Portfolio to Customer Use Cases: You are the commercial bridge to customers across hardware, software, energy management, and long-term service.
- Drive Pricing Discipline and Margin Integrity: You own pricing governance, TCO-based selling, and service attach strategy. Growth never comes at the expense of profitability or downstream service risk.
- Own Forecasting, Pipeline and Business Governance: You are expected to provide a consistent, accurate view of orders, revenue, gross profit, pipeline coverage, and competitive position. You create transparency and confidence across Commercial, Product, Operations, Service, and Finance.
- Build a High-Performing Commercial Team: You are the one who builds a team of genuine segment specialists. You create the account planning, forecasting, and execution rhythm that allows the business to scale without unnecessary complexity.
- Lead the Shift to Scalable, Repeatable Execution: You are responsible for moving the business from bespoke deal-making to blueprint-based execution. You hold stakeholders across Product, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain accountable to that standard.
- Strengthen the Channel and Partner Ecosystem: You work closely with the North America Channel team to build a focused, high-quality partner network. Clear rules, clear expectations, and clear productivity targets are your standard.
- Shape the Market Perception of ABB: You represent ABB externally with customers, partners, public agencies, and industry coalitions. You are a credible voice on reliability, uptime, site economics, energy management, battery integration, cable-theft mitigation, long-term service models, and high-power infrastructure.
We are looking for a senior commercial leader who brings:
- 12+ years of commercial leadership experience, ideally in EV charging, energy systems, electrical infrastructure, or another complex B2B technology environment
- A proven track record of scaling a business or revenue line of $100M or more
- Real experience leading enterprise key accounts and winning large infrastructure or technology programs in competitive markets
- Strong skills in TCO-based selling, pricing governance, and structuring hardware plus software plus service deals, with the executive presence to bring these conversations credibly to C-level
- A solid understanding of the North American public charging ecosystem including CPOs, utilities, NEVI funding, and high-power infrastructure trends
- Familiarity with fleet operators, retailers, and public funding dynamics such as NEVI is a strong plus
- Experience working across direct, partner-led, and channel-led go-to-market models
- A track record of competitive displacement in fast-moving markets and the ability to hold cross-functional stakeholders accountable without creating bureaucracy
Beyond the experience, we are looking for someone with a high ownership mindset, who leads with clarity and urgency, holds themselves accountable before anyone else does, and knows how to rebuild trust where it needs rebuilding. Someone who is really energized by transformation, not just comfortable with it.
What’s in it for you?
Work with the best specialists in their field, in a diverse environment with unparalleled global reach. Feel inspired by our fast growth. You will have the accountability to own your part in enabling a future of sustainable and efficient mobility. You can also count on a competitive compensation package in line with your capabilities and experience. Diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities are at the core of what we do. We celebrate different experiences and perspectives, and we aim to empower everyone in the creation of sustainable solutions for people all over the world. Our individual differences make us successful.
