ABB E-Mobility is looking for a skilled Quality Engineer to join our Quality team, focusing on the development, performance, and reliability of electric vehicle charging products. In this role, you will ensure product compliance with specifications, conduct inspections and tests, and implement corrective actions to enhance product quality.

Target Salary Range: $100,000-120,000
In this role your main accountabilities will be:
- Implement Internal Controls: Assist in establishing effective internal controls to ensure processes meet customer and stakeholder requirements, validating that control plans mitigate known risks.
- Voice of the Customer: Represent the Voice of the Customer within local teams, providing feedback and challenging decisions based on customer experience.
- Risk Evaluation Coaching: Coach employees and assess risks and develop solutions from a customer and stakeholder perspective.
- Quality Metrics Reporting: Accurately report on Quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to analyze and manage local processes, utilizing measurement systems to reflect the characteristics of materials, products, systems, and processes.
- Process and Product Audits: Conduct routine audits to ensure conformance with established processes, procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Issue Resolution Leadership: Lead the resolution of issues for the assigned product family, driving improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Collaboration for Continuous Improvement : Work with failure analysis, customer quality, and service teams to troubleshoot issues and initiate continuous improvement actions.
- Production Support : Assist local operations in addressing production issues in coordination with Contract Manufacturing Services quality.
- Quality Test Routines: Define and verify quality test routines to support quality at-source processes.
- Standardization and Compliance: Help create and implement instructions, guidelines, and procedures to ensure standardization and consistent execution.
- Safety Systems Utilization: Utilize safety systems to maintain an accident-free workplace, reporting unsafe conditions and collaborating with local safety teams to enhance safety protocols.
To make the above work, we need a Quality enthusiast with:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic, Electrotechnical or Electrical Engineering, Master’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of professional experience in similar role.
- Knowledge of manufacturing electrical, electronic and electrotechnical systems.
- Strong analytical skills, familiar to work approaching with failure analysis methods.
- Experience working with data-driven analytical methodologies for industrial quality applications – especially Statistical Process Control [SPC], Lean Six Sigma, Process Capability (Cp, CpK), and/or Process Performance (Pp, PpK) Analysis.
- Ability to confidently communicate with internal and external stakeholders on topics such as defects and changes and ability to influence decisions.
- Well versed in ISO9001 standards.
- QS9000 and/or IATF 16949 a plus
