Are you passionate about technology, safety, and hands-on problem solving? We are looking for a Laboratory Manager to play a key role in enabling cutting-edge test activities in our laboratories in Delft. In this position, you will support test and validation operations as the Work Responsible Person (Werkverantwoordelijke – WV, NEN 3140), ensuring that our laboratory infrastructure is safe, efficient, and always ready to perform.

You will combine technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and a proactive, hands-on mindset to build, maintain, and continuously improve test setups used for the functional and environmental verification and validation of our Electrical Vehcicle Chargers and its subsystems.

What you will do:

  • Ensure laboratory test benches and test cages are always in optimal working condition, clean, organized, and available for use.

  • Manage and organize laboratory areas, ensuring test setups are returned in proper condition after each assignment.

  • Build, modify, and configure test cages and benches, supporting DUT connections, and formally hand over ready-to-use setups to the assigned test engineers.

  • Own the hand-over process of laboratory assets, ensuring a smooth transition between setup readiness and test execution.

  • Plan and maintain the laboratory schedule, coordinating activities for each test cage and providing clear visibility to the wider R&D community.

  • Act as the Work Responsible Person (NEN 3140), supervising laboratory activities and enforcing health and safety regulations at all times.

  • Monitor laboratory operations to ensure safe use of test setups, while test execution remains the responsibility of test engineers.

  • Maximize laboratory uptime by maintaining the efficiency of equipment and instrumentation (excluding the DUT).

  • Coordinate and organize prompt repairs of faulty laboratory equipment and instruments when needed.

  • Manage laboratory inventories, tracking equipment usage, assignments, and ensuring correct storage when not in use.

  • Identify needs for new or upgraded equipment when laboratory capacity or performance requires improvement.

  • Coordinate electrical and civil works within the laboratory in alignment with the Installation Manager (Installatieverantwoordelijke – IV).

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or a technical high-school diploma in electrical installations.

  • 3–5 years of experience in a test laboratory or similar technical environment.

  • Hands-on knowledge of electronic instrumentation (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, data loggers, network analyzers, active electronic loads, grid simulators), and ideally environmental test equipment such as thermal and climatic chambers.

  • Solid knowledge of electrical plant standards such as EN50110-1, IEC60364, EN61439, or similar.

  • Certification as a Skilled Person according to EN50110-1.

  • A proactive, energetic mindset with strong ownership and autonomy in day-to-day work.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
