Together, we are enabling the future of sustainable mobility.

Your Role

As Lead Remote Service Engineer – Europe, you will lead a team of Remote Service Engineers supporting one of ABB E-mobility's strategic EV charging customers across Europe.

In this role, you will combine technical expertise with people leadership to ensure exceptional remote support and service delivery. You will coach your team, manage technical escalations, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and drive continuous improvements that enhance customer satisfaction and operational performance.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technical leader who enjoys solving complex challenges, developing people, and shaping the future of remote service in the fast-growing e-mobility industry.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of up to four Remote Service Engineers, creating a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality resolution of customer cases in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex customer issues and provide guidance on diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Support remote monitoring, software deployments, commissioning activities and continuous optimization of EV charging infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with Field Service, Product Management, Software, Quality and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve products and services.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, service quality and customer experience.
  • Promote knowledge sharing by developing technical documentation, best practices and training materials while supporting the ongoing development of the wider service organization.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders through proactive communication, transparency and service excellence.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of ABB's remote service capabilities across Europe.

Your Background

You are a technically strong service professional who enjoys leading people while remaining actively involved in solving customer challenges.

You also bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, IT, Software Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
  • Several years of experience in remote service, field service, technical support or maintenance within EV charging, electrical infrastructure, industrial automation or a comparable technical environment.
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring or coaching a small technical team.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues remotely.
  • Experience working with customer support systems, CRM tools and service management processes.
  • Knowledge of Linux-based systems, networking or software-enabled infrastructure is an advantage.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken. Additional European languages such as German, French, Spanish or Italian are considered an asset.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe (up to 25%) and participate in an on-call support rotation when required.

What's in It for You?

At ABB, you'll join a global organization at the forefront of sustainable mobility. We offer an environment where you can develop your leadership capabilities, work with cutting-edge technology and make a meaningful impact on the future of electric transportation.

You can expect:
