Job Description
Procurement Specialist
Job Location:  Delft
Department:  Production Sourcing
Work Model:  Hybrid
Full-Time/Part-Time:  Full Time
Contract Type:  Permanent
Job Req ID:  1783

Are you ready to build partnerships, systems, and smarter ways of working to keep the business moving? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where you can make a difference? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist that manages supplier relationships, keep purchasing processes sharp, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations — while contributing to the digitalisation and AI-driven initiatives that are shaping the future of how we work. If you take pride in operational excellence but never stop asking how things could be better, this role is for you.

What you will do:

  • Manage end-to-end procurement operations — from purchase requests and supplier registration to purchase order management and invoice resolution — ensuring full compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Own and maintain the PO database and invoice exception management in Basware, proactively resolving bottlenecks in close collaboration with Category Managers.
  • Lead the supplier onboarding process, coordinating all required documentation including GTCs, bank information, supplier forms, and ARIBA questionnaires tailored to each supplier category.
  • Build and manage day-to-day relationships with a portfolio of international approved suppliers, translating both internal and external needs into effective procurement outcomes aligned with Category Strategy.
  • Support the ABB E-mobility location in Delft (innovation lab) across indirect purchasing and facility management, ensuring operational continuity for services such as maintenance, cleaning, security, catering, and utilities.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders and external vendors on infrastructure updates, space optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the site environment and service quality.
  • Monitor supplier and service performance, driving corrective actions and process improvements that raise efficiency and quality across procurement and facility operations.
  • Contribute to digitalization and AI initiatives within indirect procurement — including analytics, invoice management, and supplier performance tracking — to future-proof how the team operates.

What you will bring:

To make the above work, we are looking for an analytically minded procurement professional who combines operational precision with a forward-thinking approach. Other essential requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, or a related management role — with a track record of getting things done in dynamic environments.
  • Experience in indirect procurement, facility management, or utilities and services coordination within an international setting.
  • Familiarity with SAP for procurement workflows.
  • Knowledge of Think-cell for data visualization and presentation – considered as a plus.
  • A CIPS qualification — considered as a plus.
  • A genuine interest in digital transformation and AI-driven process improvement — and the enthusiasm to help shape what the future of procurement looks like.
  • You are an agile and flexible professional, who always goes the extra mile in experimenting and finding innovative solutions. You love to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, full of change. Driven to achieve tight goals, and motivated by the mission of the organization you are involved with.
  • Professional proficiency in Dutch & English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate clearly across international teams.
