As a Senior Embedded Test Engineer, you will be the gatekeeper for best-in-class software quality and reliability for our EV charging technologies. You design and execute test cases, identify and troubleshoot defects. Together with your team and other stakeholders, you strive towards delivering highly sophisticated software tests while meeting our competitive timelines.
You will be leading the way in our automated software testing transformation for our embedded systems.
You will be part of the Global Software Test Team, location Delft. You will also have colleagues based in Italy and in other parts of the world, bringing a diverse set of cultures and skills. You will report to the Global Software Test Lead. Will you answer the call to be the heart and soul of our daily software innovations?
What you will do:

Define test strategies and implement risk-based testing approaches.

Lead advanced debugging and optimization of embedded systems.

Lead and mentor embedded test engineers, fostering technical growth and collaboration.

Utilize ABB automation frameworks (ATA, ORACs) effectively for test automation.

Drive quality assurance initiatives and establish testing best practices.

Plan and prioritize testing activities strategically to align with project goals.

Collaborate cross-functionally with software, hardware, and product teams.

Promote an automation-first mindset across testing processes.

Maintaining an up to date, detailed and effective software testing documentation for different project stakeholders (test cases, defects, results and test reports)

Communicate and present technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
What you will bring:

Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or any other relevant field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded software testing (preferred with an automation focus).

Expertise in defining and executing test strategies with a strong Software testing mindset.
- Advanced knowledge of debugging and optimizing embedded systems.

Good experience with automated test frameworks and automation tools.
- Leadership in quality assurance and testing processes.
- Familiar with safety procedures working in High Power environments.

Experience in Azure DevOps is preferred.

ISTQB certification is a plus.
- Proven leader with strong strategic thinking, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills; experienced in mentoring embedded test teams and excelling in communication and presentation.
