We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with excellent organizational and technical skills who will design and implement solutions for our cutting-edge EV charging systems. Seize this unique opportunity and grow together with our rapidly developing organization!
What you will do:
- Design and propose system-level technical solutions for innovative products, translating requirements into efficient mechanical architectures with maximum reuse of existing solutions.
- Develop and optimize mechanical components through 3D modeling, 2D drawings, product lifecycle management (PLM) documentation, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Work closely with vendors and supply chain management (SCM) to select the right suppliers, optimize designs for manufacturability, and balance quality, cost, and fabrication efficiency.
- Estimate costs of mechanical parts and support make-versus-buy decisions to ensure cost-effective product development.
- Coordinate technically cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, thermal, and software components.
- Define and lead implementation, testing, and validation of hardware and software solutions, focusing on mechanical performance such as vibration, thermal capability, cable pulling, manufacturability, and intellectual property. Perform pre-compliance test cases ensuring timely execution and adherence to project schedules and deadlines.
- Drive products from concept to implementation, supporting technical improvements, design for manufacturing activities, global R&D collaboration, and synergies across projects and teams.
The team you will be part of is the Products & Hardware Platforms Team. This position reports to our Program Manager.
What you will bring:
To make the above work, we are looking for a senior professional who is an excellent communicator, team player, result-oriented, and tech savvy. Other essential requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a solid background in complex mechanical design and development.
- 5+ years of experience in a medium-high range company with a focus on products design and production with a sound knowledge of hardware architectures.
- Knowledgeable in thermodynamics and fluid-dynamics to be applied to cooling solutions.
- Experienced user of Solidworks and, nice to have, Pro-E and ANSYS Fluent.
- Knowledge of EV Charging Industry Protocols and Standards is a strong plus. Basic knowledge of IEC 61851 is necessary.
- Knowledge of relevant mechanical standards/requirements such as, but not limited to, IEC 60721; ISO12944, ASCE 7, ISTA;
- Focus on results/ solutions, teamwork, and customers with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both spoken and written), with the ability to influence others in the achievement of a common goal.
- Willingness to travel on occassion.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English.
