We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented EV Charging Testing Specialist Intern to join our team. This internship will provide hands-on experience in testing electric vehicles (EVs) and EV charging systems. The successful candidate will execute tests, collect results, and support our Customer Excellence and Digital Enablement organization to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

 

In this role, your main accountabilities will be: 
• Testing Execution:  Assist in the execution of test plans for EV vehicles and charging stations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
• Conduct hands-on testing of EV chargers, including functionality, performance, and interoperability with various EV models.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, document, and analyze test results, identifying any issues or areas for improvement. Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, results, and observations to support data-driven decision-making.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Customer Excellence team to understand customer needs and expectations regarding EV charging performance. Collaborate with the Digital Enablement organization to provide feedback and insights from testing that can enhance product development and user experience.
• Reporting: Assist in preparing reports and presentations summarizing test findings and recommendations for stakeholders. Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding testing progress and results.

 

To make this work, we need a rising Junior or Senior Undergraduate Student:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
• Strong interest in electric vehicles, charging technologies, and renewable energy solutions.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and automotive technology is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools or software is a plus.

 

Internship details
• This is an internship position with competitive hourly pay.
• Internship period will begin May 19, 2025 and end August 08, 2025.
• This intership is based onsite in Bloomfield, CT.

Charger Operations & COC

Our Collaborative Operations Center (COC) comprises three specialized teams dedicated to ensuring the seamless operation of all ABB E-mobility chargers. The Customer Support team handles customer contact and case management, including work order creation for our field team. Meanwhile, the Charger Operations team manages all remote activities such as software updates, charger configurations, troubleshooting, and field team support. Additionally, our Technical Support team addresses individual technical issues in the field.
