As an Experience Marketing Manager Europe, you will be part of the Global Experience Marketing Team, working in close collaboration with regional sales team and the Global Marketing und Communication teams at ABB E-mobility.

The Experience Marketing Team is a key contributor on how we position ourselves in the market with customers, partners and stakeholders. As part of the team, you are responsible for translating our corporate narrative, our marketing objectives, and our offering and solutions into live and virtual experiences. You will be a true partner to our marketing and sales teams across the company.

What’s the role

You will be responsible for the planning, management, optimization, execution, and reporting of event activities across Europe. You will work with your stakeholders to develop and align strategies for live and virtual event experiences which create, and nurture leads, and generate brand awareness in defined target markets in Europe. Activities will include tradeshows, conferences, customer gatherings- and tours as well as showrooms.

You will lead and work in small and mid-size cross-functional projects in parallel, adapt plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges, and you will be dealing with stakeholders across hierarchies. In this role you apply your understanding of the business and how your own area is connected and integrates with others. You will demonstrate your ability to guide and influences others either internally or externally to adopt a different point of view, if needed.

At the same time, you are maintaining alignment to the positioning and messaging set by both other internal stakeholders, such as the Communication and Sales Department, and the rest of the Marketing Team.

You will furthermore support and/or lead workstreams within Marketing & Comms global cross-functional projects with a live or virtual event component happening in Europe, such as Customer events or internal events.

 

In this role your main accountabilities will be:  

  • Lead planning and execution of live and virtual event formats including industry events and trade shows, conferences, roadshows, partner events and other ABB E-mobility owned internal events across Europe
  • You will develop and manage event and live experience strategy for Europe, align messaging, content, operations, activation and tracking with stakeholders
  • Lead, manage, and support cross-functional project teams
  • Plan and manage timeline, resource, and asset availability for assigned projects
  • Budget management and cost controlling for all assigned projects
  • Agency and supplier management
  • You will be the onsite host at trade shows and ABB own to coordinate agencies as well as our internal team and customer meetings
  • You will be responsible to ensure lead collection onsite and plan follow up with stakeholders
  • You will analyze the effectiveness of our live experience initiatives in Europe, collect, and provide timely evaluations of various the activities, and make recommendations to optimize our end-to-end event experience  

 

Who are you

This role requires an independent individual with a profonde marketing background.

You have strong event management experience reaching from virtual to live experiences and from small tabletop to larger tradeshow and conferences set-up and organization. You are accustomed to working to a budget and within strict timelines. If you consider events as one marketing channels in the mix of many marketing touch points, you enjoy being part of a global and growing company, working with cross team projects in different time zones, ABB E-Mobility is the right place for you.

Besides your strong marketing/sales background you are bringing along:

  • University degree and 8+ years related experience in marketing or sales
  • A track record of success in managing project ranging from small to diverse and complex, ideally in the technology/software industry marketing
  • Experience in working in marketing and sales organizations in and outside the event business
  • Experience in multi-stakeholder management and working in a decentralized global organization in a strongly dynamic transformational phase
  • Have a good understanding of embedding events in other marketing channels and activities, e.g. social media, email nurture, partner marketing, co-marketing programs
  • Experience and understanding of lead collection and management before, during and after an event
  • Experience in steering agencies and specialized event suppliers
  • Have a high level of attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing, deadline orientated priorities simultaneously
  • Highly effective communication and presentation skills and working easily with many hierarchy levels of the company
  • Must-have: knowledge about and experience in using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira; event applications and management tools, e.g. SwapCard, 6Connex, Cvent, PowerPoint, and CMS, e.g. Sales Force, Marketo, Integrate
  • Nice to have: knowledge about or experience in working with survey tools like Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey and content management tools, e.g. contently
  • Comfortable with travelling to events across Europe
  • The role is based in Delft, NL or Berlin, DE and you will report into the Head of Experience Marketing
