ABB E-mobility is looking for a Field Service Engineer based in the Madrid area to join our global team. This role is ideal for an electrician who enjoys working independently, travelling to customer sites, solving technical challenges, and collaborating virtually with colleagues across Europe.
In this role, you will commission new EV chargers, as well as maintain and repair existing installations. You will also proactively identify customer needs related to service and spare parts, helping to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
Our Field Service Engineers are key to our success. They work in line with both ABB E-mobility and customer standards, procedures, and policies—while consistently maintaining the highest levels of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Position Responsibilities:
- Travelling daily to customer sites (mostly within the region, occasional overnight stays)
- Commissioning, configuring, maintaining, and repairing EV charging equipment
- Diagnosing and solving technical issues in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems
- Acting as the face of ABB E-mobility on-site, ensuring high customer satisfaction
- Proactively identifying customer needs for upgrades, maintenance, and spare parts
- Documenting service activities and contributing to continuous knowledge sharing
- Collaborating remotely with technical support and internal teams
Qualifications Required:
- Technical degree or professional training and 3+ years in Field Service
- Strong troubleshooting skills (electrical, electronic, mechanical)
- Self-driven with a positive "can-do" mindset and enjoys working independently
- Experience in EV charging is a plus.
