Key Responsibilities
Eichrecht Operations Ownership
- Own all operational processes related to Eichrecht compliance for DC fast charging systems.
- Define and maintain procedures for:
- Initial validation and Eichung
- Revalidation/reverification
- Meter replacements
- Seal handling and resealing
- Firmware/software updates impacting metrology
- Regulated service interventions
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for operational Eichrecht implementation.
First-Time Validation & Revalidation
- Ensure chargers are fully prepared for initial Eichung and authority inspections.
- Coordinate and support field validation and revalidation activities with calibration authorities.
- Define acceptance criteria and readiness requirements for compliant commissioning and reverification.
- Manage processes for chargers requiring re-Eichung following regulated repairs or configuration changes.
Technician Qualification & Compliance
- Develop and maintain technician training, certification, and qualification programs for Eichrecht-relevant work.
- Ensure technicians remain current on the latest procedures, Eichrecht interpretations, and regulatory requirements.
- Audit field execution and documentation quality to ensure compliant work practices.
- Maintain authorization controls for regulated interventions.
Tooling & Operational Readiness
- Define, procure, and maintain all tools and equipment required for Eichrecht field activities.
- Ensure tooling, seals, service laptops, and calibration equipment remain approved, traceable, and compliant.
- Standardize field kits and operational processes across service organizations.
Type Certificate & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all field configurations remain within the approved Baumusterprüfbescheinigung scope.
- Maintain compliance of:
- Firmware/software versions
- Hardware configurations
- Metering components
- Security and sealing requirements
- Support engineering change management and assess certification impact of field changes.
Documentation & Audit Support
- Maintain audit-ready records for validations, seals, firmware traceability, technician certifications, and authority inspections.
- Support external audits, and authority reviews.
- Track KPIs related to validation success, non-conformities, and compliance performance.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Metrology, Mechatronics, or related technical field.
- 5+ years experience in regulated technical operations, EV charging, legal metrology, or calibration systems.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Eichrecht / MessEG / MessEV
- OCMF/transparency systems
- DC fast charging systems
- Legally relevant software controls
- Experience working with calibration authorities and certification bodies preferred.
- Fluent German and English preferred.
