ABB E-mobility is looking for a highly motivated Category Manager – IT, Production & EOL Equipment to join our Global Indirect Procurement team. Reporting to the Head of Indirect Procurement, you will own and drive the global sourcing strategy for IT and Production/EOL Equipment categories, delivering sustainable value through cost optimization, supplier innovation, digitalization, and risk management. In this high-impact individual contributor role, you will collaborate with stakeholders across IT, Operations, Engineering, R&D, Finance, and regional procurement teams to shape category strategies that support ABB E-mobility's ambitious growth and operational excellence objectives.
Your Responsibilities
- Define, own, and execute global category strategies for IT, Production Equipment, and End-of-Line (EOL) Equipment, ensuring alignment with business priorities and procurement objectives.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including supplier selection, RFx processes, negotiations, and contract management across software, SaaS, cloud services, IT infrastructure, digital solutions, and production equipment.
- Identify and deliver cost optimization opportunities through spend analysis, demand management, specification challenge, and total cost of ownership (TCO) approaches.
- Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships with leading technology vendors and specialized equipment providers to drive performance, innovation, and long-term value creation.
- Partner closely with IT, Operations, Engineering, R&D, Finance, and regional procurement teams to ensure effective implementation of category strategies and sourcing initiatives.
- Monitor supplier performance, market dynamics, and technology trends to proactively manage risks and capture innovation opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement and digitalization within procurement, leveraging data analytics and exploring AI-enabled solutions to enhance sourcing, supplier management, and decision-making processes.
Your Background
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management experience, with proven hands-on expertise in IT procurement.
- Strong knowledge of IT sourcing models, including software licensing, SaaS, cloud services, hardware, infrastructure, and IT professional services.
- Experience managing global or multi-regional supplier portfolios and leading complex commercial negotiations with strategic suppliers.
- Solid analytical, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge requirements constructively and drive value-based decisions.
- Experience with production equipment, industrial automation, testing equipment, or End-of-Line (EOL) equipment procurement is considered a strong advantage.
- Proficiency with procurement and digital tools such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, advanced Excel, and AI-enabled platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, Anthropic); CIPS certification is a plus.

Compensation Package
The employment framework is based on the National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Metalworking Industry, with an indicative level of B3 and a minimum gross annual salary starting from € 39.000,00.The specific level and compensation package will be defined based on the outcome of the selection process (including experience, skills set, and role fit), in accordance with objective, transparent, and gender-neutral criteria, in line with pay equity and equal opportunity principles.The total compensation package will also includes a variable bonus linked to individual and company targets.
