The Head of Enterprise Applications is a senior leadership role responsible for guiding ABB E-Mobility through critical innovation, modernization and transformation initiatives, directly shaping the future of our enterprise application landscape. This position will oversee the development, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise applications, ensuring alignment with business goals and driving technical innovation across the organization. This is a key leadership role and will be highly visible and engaged with the executive leadership team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and functional leadership in support of development, implementation, and management of SAP S/4HANA systems and integrations in a multi brand environment.
  • Collaborate with IT business partners, functional and operational leaders, and business executives to develop the enterprise applications roadmap/strategy and manage project, enhancement, and innovation pipelines Identify opportunities for system modernization, integration, automation, and rationalization to enhance business operations.
  • Build and manage relationships with technology vendors and partners, ensuring seamless system integrations and compliance with security standards, regulatory and data privacy governance requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a change management process to ensure smooth transitions, minimizing disruption during implementation efforts.
  • Ensure robust systems control, data governance, architecture, and analytics capabilities to support real-time business insights and automation.
  • Negotiate and oversee vendor contracts for maintenance, implementation, operations, and ongoing support as required to ensure project deliverables and applications SLAs are met in a cost effective manner.
  • Leads team of functional analysts providing enterprise application domain expertise to key business teams.
  • Responsible for portfolio management across the enterprise application landscape including third-party integrations.

 

Background

  • BS or BA in Industrial Production, Business, Information Systems, or a related discipline is required. 15+ years of leadership experience in enterprise application management, IT service management, or related fields, with at least 8+ years in a senior leadership role with a focus on ERP systems.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale enterprise initiatives, particularly with a focus on operations, data migration, cloud adoption, business process transformation, third-party integrations, and digital transformation projects.
  • Deep understanding of ERP systems and business processes across various departments (finance, supply chain, demand planning, manufacturing, warehouse, HR, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively interface with executive teams and gain buy-in for transformational initiatives.
  • Related SAP certifications and/or S/4HANA highly desired.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills to identify root-cause of issues
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be highly process oriented
  • Highly organized and detail oriented; strong critical self-review skills
