We are looking for a Global Product Quality Engineer to take ownership of product quality and reliability across the entire lifecycle of our EV charging portfolio. From supporting new product introductions to driving field reliability improvements, you will play a key role in bringing the customer perspective into product development and manufacturing excellence. Your responsibilities
- Own the quality performance and reliability of an assigned EV charging product family throughout its entire lifecycle, from New Product Development through field deployment and end-of-life.
- Represent the voice of the customer during product development reviews, ensuring quality, reliability, and user requirements are embedded in design decisions.
- Drive product verification and validation activities, defining test strategies and ensuring comprehensive coverage of electrical, mechanical, environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement effective quality control and testing strategies to support robust manufacturing processes and at-source quality assurance.
- Lead complex root cause investigations and corrective action programs using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, FMEA, and Ishikawa.
- Collaborate closely with global R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Quality, Service, and Contract Manufacturing partners to resolve product and production quality issues.
- Analyse quality and process performance data using SPC, process capability metrics (Cp/Cpk, Pp/Ppk), and other statistical tools to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve product quality, manufacturing performance, and key business KPIs.
- Maintain quality standards, procedures, and documentation to ensure consistent execution and compliance across the product lifecycle.
- Promote a strong safety and quality culture by operating in line with ABB's environmental, health, and safety requirements.
Your background
- Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Product Quality, Reliability Engineering, Verification & Validation, or a similar technical role.
- Strong understanding of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with product verification, reliability testing, and failure analysis methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of Python for data analysis or test automation and familiarity with Linux environments.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Nice to have
- IATF 16949, QS9000, or equivalent quality certification.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Experience in EV charging, power electronics, energy infrastructure, or related industries.
- Familiarity with DVP&R, advanced FMEA methodologies, or reliability engineering frameworks.

Compensation Package
The employment framework is based on the National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Metalworking Industry, with an indicative level of C3/B2 and a minimum gross annual salary starting from € 31.000,00. The specific level and compensation package will be defined based on the outcome of the selection process (including experience, skills set, and role fit), in accordance with objective, transparent, and gender-neutral criteria, in line with pay equity and equal opportunity principles. The total compensation package will also include a variable bonus linked to individual and company targets.
