We are looking for an R&D Senior Mechanical Engineer. In this role you will mainly contribute to the design the new Electrical power chargers and product development. The role includes also tasks linked to technical continuous improvement of existing products with focus on material cost-out, design for manufacturing and standardization. As Senior Professional you will operate with some autonomy but will also be guided by your supervisors and in line with established ABB E-mobility policies. Your responsibilities
In this role your main accountabilities will be:
- Mechanical design execution of the electrical charging station, 3D CAD and 2D as well
- Manage and catalogue the products’ data documentation in terms of specifications, features, materials, dimensions, and images in a PDL system
- Perform and plan test and mechanical analysis in collaboration with our reliability team
- Contribute to the development of internal technical standards for engineering and manufacturing procedures for production
- Support and collaborate with internal and external teams to reach common goals and to drive innovation and achieve success
Your background
- You have a technical background such as a Technical high school diploma. The ideal candidate has a Mechanical Engineering Degree
- You have at least 3+ years of experience in a similar Industry sector and specific knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g. injection molding, treatment, metal working…)
- A solid knowledge of Solidworks 3D Software is required. Previous experience in Ansys and Phyton will be considered a plus
- Knowledge of DFM, DFMEA and risk analysis approach
- You have a very good level of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Italian language is mandatory due to interaction with Italian internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis
