Your work will help ensure that every EV charger we produce meets the highest standards in quality, functionality, and user experience. What You’ll Do 

This role is designed for an accomplished software leader with expertise in both software development and team leadership. You will be responsible for mentoring staff, refining testing processes, and driving innovation to maximize the value of our testing function. Your key duties will include promoting technical growth, upholding software quality, and influencing product development to ensure that our testing practices remain at the forefront of the industry. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Strategy & Architecture: Define the overarching test automation strategy to align with business and operational goals. Architect, design, and maintain scalable and robust automation frameworks. Evaluate and select appropriate tools and technologies, and facilitate seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines to support efficient, continuous testing. 

  • Technical Leadership & Execution: Take a hands-on approach to developing test automation scripts and systems. Conduct code reviews and provide expert guidance to address technical challenges. Solve complex issues related to test automation and ensure high standards of code quality. Monitor and report key testing metrics to stakeholders and drive ongoing improvements. 

  • Team Management & Collaboration: Lead and mentor a team of test engineers, fostering technical development and accountability. Work closely with cross-functional partners, including R&D, product, and operations teams, to maintain alignment and effective communication. Oversee resource planning to support project delivery and adapt to evolving business needs. 

  • Champion Design for Testability: Build strong collaborative relationships with R&D software developers to embed testability into our products. Guide the transition from traditional test scripts to advanced embedded test functions and APIs, making our products inherently easier and more efficient to test. 

 

Your Background

 

A Technology Lead in Test Automation must have a strong blend of technical expertise, process knowledge, and soft skills. 

  • Technical Skills 
    • Programming: Deep proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C# used for automation.
    • Automation Tools: Expertise in industry-standard test automation tools and frameworks, including Selenium WebDriver, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, and Postman/Rest Assured for API testing.
    • CI/CD & DevOps: Strong experience with version control systems like Git and integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Azure DevOps.
    • Databases: Proficiency in SQL and data validation across various database platforms, including Oracle and PostgreSQL. Demonstrated experience with Azure Data Analytics tools and cloud services such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Data Factory for advanced data processing, integration, and reporting in test automation environments.
    • Testing Methodologies: Comprehensive understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Agile/Scrum methodologies, and various testing types, including functional, non-functional, security, and performance testing.
  • Soft Skills & Leadership
    • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor technical teams.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to design complex solutions and troubleshoot system-wide issues.
    • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term strategies for the automation roadmap and understand how quality assurance supports overall product excellence.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing principles.
    • Relevant coursework or formal training in test automation methodologies, scripting, and quality assurance practices.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.
    • Familiarity with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter and LoadRunner.
    • Proven experience in scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or Shell scripting for automation tasks.
    • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms beyond Azure, such as AWS or Google Cloud, in the context of test automation.
    • Demonstrated ability to implement test automation in microservices and distributed architectures.
    • Exposure to security testing tools and methodologies.
