We are looking for an R&D Thermal Engineer to be part of our R&D Department in San Giovanni Valdarno.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

  • You lead the thermal design of new projects from the concept to the final design 

  • You are responsible to validate the thermal design of the products through numerical simulations and experiments, based on internal procedure and projects KPI 

  • You work with the mechanical and software department to achieve the needs. 

  • You work with the testing engineers to define the thermal tests layout, testing procedure, as well as select the sensors type to be used  

  • You work with our suppliers’ patterns to find the best thermal solutions and create the protypes to finalize for production. 

  • You look for innovative thermal management solutions  

 

Your Background

 

  • You have a master’s degree in physics, mechanical, energy engineering or equivalent, with a solid know how in fluid mechanics and heat transfer phenomena.  

  • With at least 3-5 years of experience in a medium-high range company focus on design and testing as Thermal Engineer or equivalent. 

  • You have strong experience in numerical modelling, design and testing of liquid to air heat exchangers, cooling of power electronic devices through air cooling, liquid cooling, multiphase cooling (is a plus). 

  • You have experience analyzing and processing experimental data for correlations development and models validation as well. 

  • You are and advanced user of CFD/CFX simulation tools mainly applied to heat transfer problems and heat conduction as well (ANSYS CFD and SolidWork Flow Simulation are preferred). 

  • You are a good user of 3D CAD system, in particular SolidWorks. 

  • Having experience in fan acoustic noise measurements and numerical simulation through FEM software is a plus. 

  • You feel comfortable in the lab, collaborating with testing engineers for mockups design and thermal test setup for products validation.  

  • You are a passion person with a lot of flexibility and creativity to accept proactively the daily challenges to provide the best solution. A creative problem solving is your key success factor. You have to be comfortable in a Start-up mindset insert into a global strong company. Agility, as capacity to change direction fast, is the recommended soft skill to drive the success of the business. Team working in an international context is your main support.
