We're currently looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior General Accounting Specialist to join our Team in Kraków, Poland. In this role, you'll oversee day-to-day accounting operations and collaborate with the team of accounting professionals based in Kraków. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and continuous improvement of accounting processes. The ideal candidate combines technical accounting expertise with strong communication skills.
In this role, you will:
- oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis and month-end and year-end close processes,
- ensure all reporting is compliant with local GAAP/IFRS, company policies, and statutory requirements and meet the Group deadlines; support the preparation of financial analysis and management reports,
- review and approve financial transactions, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting documentation; update policies and Standard Operating Procedures as needed,
- coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing timely and accurate information during audits,
- collaborate cross-functionally with Payroll, FP&A, Tax, and leadership to provide financial insights and data analysis,
- manage special projects, identify and implement process improvements, leverage technology to increase efficiency, accuracy, and control; drive the adoption of automation tools and reporting enhancements.
To make the above work, we are looking for:
- bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field,
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience,
- strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting standards (IFRS and local GAAP),
- hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP 4/HANA, SAC reporting tool),
- advanced Excel skills (e.g. Pivot tables, Vlookup, Macros),
- proven ability to manage deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment,
- strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities,
- high attention to detail and accuracy,
- clear and effective communication and stakeholder management skills,
- proactive mindset with a continuous-improvement approach,
- ability to work independently and collaboratively,
- fluent English, both written and spoken
