The intern will support the company-wide initiative to review, standardize, and re-organize ABB E-mobility’s Knowledge Base, with the goal of improving document searchability, redefining the way the current tools are used, and enabling the creation of a centralized Knowledge Base Hub on SharePoint. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams and help execute the Grooming → Design → Deploy workflow for each department involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Grooming Phase (Data Collection & Analysis)
- Distribute and collect questionnaires from team leaders.
- Analyze responses to extract: 1) Requirements based on the Framework of Analysis; 2) Existing tool usage, limitations, and licenses; 3) Opt-in / Opt-out preferences for the new KB structure; 4) Map current repositories, document types, owners, and access needs.
- Assist in the Design Phase (Structure & Process Definition)
- Help build team-specific library structures on SharePoint, aligned with the Framework and project guidelines.
- Collaborate to define metadata, tagging logic, document lifecycle and versioning rules.
- Prepare content migration plans and checklists.
- Support Deployment (Launch & Training)
- Assist with content migration into the new Library.
- Test workflows, permissions, and document accessibility.
- Support teams during go-live: answer questions, troubleshoot issues, escalate where needed.
- Create basic training materials or user guides.
- Cross-Application Mapping and Integration Support
- Document where information resides across OpenText, SharePoint, Seismic, ClickHelp, and Oracle PLM
- Support early evaluation of integration points with:Training & Communications Tools and Process Flow Management Tools
Your Background
- Basic understanding of document management or digital content organization.
- Familiarity with SharePoint (even at user level).
- Data analysis skills (Excel, Teams Lists, or similar).
- Ability to structure information and document processes clearly.
- Good PowerPoint and documentation capability.
- Proficient English is a must.
- Strong communication skills (daily contact with multiple teams).
- Proactive and organized, with attention to detail.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn complex systems.
- Ability to work independently in a structured environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of ECM tools (OpenText, Confluence, CMS, PLM systems).
- Basic understanding of metadata, tagging, or taxonomy design.
- Experience in user interviews or requirements gathering.
