Role: Sales Engineer, AI Agents for EV Charging RFPs & Tenders
Location: Montreal, Canada or Charlotte, North Carolina (preferred hubs) global role with remote flexibility
About the Role
We're looking for a Sales Engineer to design, build, and operate AI agents that help our sales and proposals teams win complex EV charging infrastructure RFPs and tenders the kind involving multi-site deployments, mixed product portfolios, utility interconnection constraints, and dozens of technical and commercial evaluation criteria.
This is a hybrid role: part sales engineering (you understand charging hardware, site blueprints, and how a technical proposal gets built and priced), part applied AI (you can configure, prompt, and integrate AI agents into real proposal workflows), and part systems integrator. You'll work hands-on with platforms that builds industry-specific AI agents for sales engineering and quoting in complex manufacturing and CRM intake system of record.
You'll sit close to sales, translating the realities of how RFPs get evaluated and won into agent workflows that make proposal turnaround faster, more accurate, and more consistent without losing the judgment that a strong sales engineer brings to a six- or seven-figure tender.
What You'll Do
- Partner directly with sales, proposal, and solutions teams to understand how complex EV charging RFPs are scoped, evaluated, and won then translate that expertise into requirements for AI agents.
- Support live RFP responses reviewing agent-generated outputs, correcting technical and commercial content, and ensuring submissions meet tender requirements.
- Configure and extend AI agent workflows that support RFP intake, requirement extraction, product/site blueprint matching, pricing assembly, and proposal drafting.
- Own the integration between agent tooling, proposal intake, opportunity data, SSR routing and downstream systems; ERP/SAP, master data, document generation.
- Act as the technical bridge between the sales organization and internal IT/Salesforce administrators, translating proposal-team pain points into system and agent requirements.
- Build and maintain reusable prompt libraries, decision logic, and product/site “blueprints” (e.g., standard mission profiles, configuration rules) that agents draw on when assembling proposals.
- Track and report on agent performance against proposal KPIs (turnaround time, blueprint match rate, configuration accuracy, conversion rate, pricing discipline) and iterate on agent design based on results.
What You Bring
- 3–6 years of experience in sales engineering, solutions engineering, or technical proposal/bid management ideally in EV charging, energy infrastructure, electrical equipment, or another complex capital-equipment industry.
- Direct experience responding to or supporting complex RFPs/tenders, including multi-stakeholder technical evaluations, pricing structures, and compliance requirements.
- Working familiarity with Salesforce (or a comparable CRM) in a proposal/quoting context you don't need to be an admin, but you should be comfortable in the data model and workflow.
- Hands-on experience building or configuring multi-agent AI workflows in a real business process not just prompting an LLM to summarize a document. Concretely, this means experience with one or more of: requirement extraction/classification from unstructured documents, decision or red-flag logic grounded in internal rules, agent-driven CPQ/configurator integration, or automated system writeback into a CRM/ERP. You should be able to speak to a specific agent workflow you built end-to-end, including how you evaluated its output accuracy in production.
- Comfort working across technical, commercial, and IT stakeholders, and translating between them.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce clear, structured proposal content under deadline pressure.
Languages
- English and French required.
- Spanish strongly preferred.
- Additional languages are a plus, given the global scope of the role.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with EV charging hardware categories (AC/DC chargers, depot/fleet charging, off-grid/BESS-paired solutions) and how they map to site types.
- Experience with public-sector or municipal tender processes (e.g., city/utility RFPs) in North America.
- Exposure to proposal/quoting KPI frameworks and dashboarding (e.g., tracking ASK-to-ORDER cycle metrics).
- Prior experience piloting or deploying a third-party AI agent platform inside a sales or proposals organization.
How We'll Screen for This
We'll dig into the "hands-on with AI agents" claim directly. Be ready to discuss:
- A specific agent workflow you built end-to-end input, decision/extraction logic, and system writeback not just a prompt that summarizes a document.
- How you evaluated that agent's output accuracy in production what metric you tracked, and what failure modes you caught.
- A real scenario in the Salesforce (or comparable CRM) data model for example, how you'd structure an opportunity-to-quote handoff for a multi-site RFP.
Why This Role
You'll have outsized influence over how a growing sales organization uses AI to compete for large, complex, technically demanding contracts with real ownership over both the tooling and the proposals it touches. You'll work at the intersection of hardware, sales strategy, and applied AI, with a global remit and direct exposure to leadership.
Location note: This role is based out of Montreal, Canada or Charlotte, North Carolina, with flexibility for global collaboration across time zones given the scope of the role.
