For our ABB E-Mobility Software Development Center located in Hasselt (Belgium), we are looking for a dedicated Software Product Owner. You will take ownership of the full connectivity stack that links our high-power DC chargers to the outside world. This includes the software logic, the physical networking hardware (routers, modems, switches), and the user-facing Payment Terminal (PT) integrations.
Your Responsibilities
As the Product Owner for Connectivity and Integration, you act as the vital link between our DC hardware, the user’s payment experience, and the cloud ecosystem.
- Domain Ownership (Connectivity, Network & Payments): You manage the product backlog for DC charger connectivity, including Payment Terminal UI software, backend integration, and overseeing networking hardware (routers, 4G/5G modems, switches) selection and lifecycle for cloud and charger connections.
- Technical Requirement Definition: Translate complex technical requirements—into clear Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria for the development teams.
- Integration Management: Lead the software definition for integrating Payment Terminals into the charger ecosystem.
- Agile Execution: Oversee development with Agile methods for effective planning, scheduling, and releases.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with Software Engineers, UX/UI Designers, Cloud Architects to ensure the charger software effectively communicates with third-party systems and provides a flawless user experience.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure that connectivity features, network components, and payment integrations meet strict security (cybersecurity) and regulatory standards before release.
Your Background
- Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or Business Analyst in a software-hardware integrated environment.
- Domain Knowledge:
- Solid knowledge of Networking Hardware: Experience selecting and integrating industrial routers, modems, and Ethernet switches. Understanding cellular technologies (LTE/5G), SIM management, and LAN/WAN architectures.
- Understanding connectivity protocols (e.g., OCPP, REST APIs, MQTT, WebSocket) and IoT integration.
- Experience with Payment Systems is a Plus.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills
- Languages: Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written); Dutch is a plus.
